Blanket/Matchcoat Reputedly Used at Grant’s Headquarters

This heavy, double-paneled wool blanket could also be fastened around the neck and worn as a matchcoat, or cloak, for warmth. It was reputedly used at one of General Ulysses S. Grant’s headquarters during the war.
